LatinX Poster Design

Design Challenge: Design experimental posters to promote and motivate public interest in LatinX Type Designers and their contemporary typefaces. Explore experimental approaches to poster design and layout to create emotional resonance, beautiful visual hierarchy, and a dynamic, balanced layout.

Design Solution: Buendia is a typeface designed by Colombian designer César Puertas in 2015. I drew inspiration from his Colombian heritage to shape my designs. The first poster showcases imagery from “Día de las Velitas,” a cherished Colombian lantern festival, while the second features a painting by renowned Colombian artist Pedro Ruiz. These cultural elements celebrate Puertas’ roots and reflect the warmth, delicacy, and inviting character of the Buendia typeface. By combining extreme-scale typography with meaningful imagery, the posters celebrate the font’s cultural significance while creating dynamic and balanced designs.
